What is LearnEnglish?

LearnEnglish is a resource-rich platform created by the British Council, offering English learning materials for all levels — from A1 (Beginner) to C1 (Advanced). No registration is needed for most resources, so you can start learning immediately!

Key Features:

  • Diverse Activities: Grammar, listening, reading, speaking tips, videos, games, and quizzes.

  • Level-Based Content: Easily find resources for your level using CEFR labels (A1–C1).

  • Mobile App Access: Download lessons and activities to learn offline on your phone.

  • Free & Paid Options: Most content is free; some courses offer trials or certificates.

Pros:

✔ Covers all skills: reading, listening, grammar, speaking tips
✔ Works on any device, plus offline access via the app
✔ High-quality content from a trusted institution

Cons:

✘ Some courses require payment after trial
✘ Too much content? Beginners might feel overwhelmed without guidance

Something that I particularly want to mention is the intuitive system that the website has to offer.  Another characteristic that I appreciate of it, is the no needing to create an account to participate or practice, just a few clicks and you find whatever you need.  Plenty of people, tend to lose their motivation to practice or participate online when they have to do accounts, advertisement or the typical message of free trial.

There is a video with a example of chosing a material for practice, in this case listening activitie for beginners A1

LearnEnglish is an excellent all-in-one tool for anyone who wants to practice English regularly. Whether you're commuting, relaxing at home, or studying for an exam, this platform helps you learn anytime, anywhere.
